About the Bean
The highly-desirable Caturron variety gets the royal treatment from Alirio Rodriguez, who uses Anaerobic fermentation to draw out the incredible flavors of this rare variety.
Grown at Finca El Recreo in Colombia’s Huila region, this exceptional coffee comes from third-generation farmer Alirio Rodriguez. With over 30 years of experience, Alirio transitioned to specialty coffee in 2018, cultivating the rare Caturron variety at 1,550 meters above sea level. Known for its larger cherries and resistance to leaf rust, Caturron delivers a vibrant cup with notes of tropical fruit, strawberry, and a smooth, silky finish.
Processed using anaerobic fermentation (100-120 hours), this coffee highlights the rich volcanic soil and pristine water of Acevedo. Perfect for filter brews or espresso, it’s a small-batch gem from a family-run farm.
