About the bean
Grown in the red volcanic soils of Kenya’s renowned Nyeri region, this AA-grade coffee is a brilliant expression of high-elevation terroir and meticulous processing. The cherries are cultivated by smallholder farmers, many of whom deliver their harvests to the Gatina washing station, part of the Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society — a producer group known for consistency and quality.
At 1,700 to 1,800 meters above sea level, the cool climate and nutrient-rich soil slow cherry maturation, concentrating sugars and complexity. After selective handpicking, cherries are fully washed using clean river water, fermented, and dried on raised beds under the sun — a hallmark of Kenyan coffee craftsmanship.
In the cup, expect elegant notes of Kyoho grape and blackcurrant, with a syrupy sweetness reminiscent of molasses. The texture is juicy and smooth, offering a dynamic yet refined experience — ideal for filter brew or pour-over lovers seeking complexity and brightness in every sip.
